Who would you vote for?

Do you believe the economy is getting better?

Haiti Benefit

It's been quite a while since my last post.
Recently, I have been working very hard on a Haiti benefit at my high school. I am performing in it, working tech in it, creating the program, and I created three slideshows for it.
I have been staying in school quite late these past few days and will be doing the same for the next few.
Yesterday, Earl, the technical stage manager at my school, and I did some work on one of the backdrops. This backdrop is unique because it is a star backdrop. A few large, and, boy, do I mean large, lights are hung at the top of the backdrop. These lights create small star-like dots on the backdrop. It is a wonderful sight. The light bulbs were out though and we needed to bring in the backdrop. Because the lights are so large, many weights had to be used in the fly gallery to balance it. Unfortunately, this makes it extremely difficult to bring the backdrop down. I don't want to brag but I'm a pretty strong guy. I couldn't even do it myself. Earl, who is huge, asked John, one of the maintenance guys, to help us just in case we couldn't get it. Once we had the backdrop down, we had to quickly put those plastic ties police officers use to subdue criminals on the ropes. What a day!
Today, some lights and trusts were brought in from a lighting company. A trust, for those of you that don't know, is a metal frame that stands upright and is used to hold lights. We had to carry them into the auditorium. They weren't too heavy but they weren't too light either.
Tomorrow, I have to help at the Cabaret, my schools talent show, auditions since I am on the Student Government board. That should be fun though.
On Friday, Earl will not be in school because of the senior trip. Another trust is coming on Friday so I will have to bring it in the auditorium.
Monday, I have my road test at 10 am. Wish me luck! Then I have to come back to school so I can go to the rehearsal of the Haiti Benefit.
Finally, Tuesday is the Haiti Benefit.

Miley Cyrus

With a vote of 6 to 1, I will be doing a weekly celebrity rant. Hopefully, you have already noticed this one with be about Miley Cyrus.

This young star has some issues. I am convinced she has a personality disorder that's getting out of hand. Hannah Montana is supposed to be the singer and Miley is supposed to be the regular girl. Now Miley is singing and Hannah kind of disappeared a bit. Cyrus has to make up her damn mind.

Next topic of interest... She can't sing. Say what you will but her songs are stupid and annoying. Although I say this, I do personally think "The Climb" is a very well- written and powerful song.

Everyone says Miley is hideous. Alright people, she's not hideous. She is cute but could use braces. Since I'm on the topic of her looks, I still can't believe she had those photos on her iPhone. And if you're going to take pictures like that, why leave them on your phone? DELETE THEM. The worst part is that she let it happen TWICE.

Finally, she is the cause for global warming. Alright, maybe not only her but she contributes. Think about it... She wakes up and does her hair probably using hairspray. Then she may go to an interview as Miley and of course she has to spray her hair and all that stuff. Then she has a concert where she switches back and forth between Miley and Hannah. Every time she switches, the hair stylist has to re- spray it to make it look good. Not necessary Miley. Everyone already thinks you're ugly so why try?

For all of you that disagree with anything I said, good for you. Now you got the best of both worlds. Go have a party in the U.S.A.

9/11

When this date comes up, only one thing comes to mind: Why?

These terrorists took away mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. They destroyed buildings, the city, and lives. What gives them the reason to do that? What gives anyone the reason to do that? Did we kill thousands first? No. Was it a war that was being fought? No.

For those of you that live in a cave, like the man that planned this, I am talking about the terrorist hijacking that struck the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field. Two planes went to New York and hit each tower. People were trapped in. The people on the streets were running to get away. Some jumped out of the windows to the ground. Minutes later, the towers came falling down to the ground. Another plane hit the Pentagon. The last plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after passengers fought back and did not give the terrorists enough time to get to the White House.

My uncle was in one of the towers on the 86th floor. Being a former officer, he tried evacuating his building when the first plane hit the other tower. He cleared his floor and started down the stairs to the next floor. The second plane hit and fuel streamed down the staircase. The staircase then exploded and his body pieces were never found.

Now, there are thousands of stories similar to mine. Even police officers and other emergency respondents died trying to save people. Why should these people have to deal with it?

I have taken the R train before and it goes through a stop that has been closed ever since 9/11/01. Before construction started, there was a word spray painted on the wall: WHY?

There's not much more to say without being repetitive. Tomorrow, think of all those people who lost their lives.

RIP Uncle Charlie
I'll always wonder why

New Here

I just made this Blog and I am extremely excited about this. I have always been very proud of my opinions and now I can share them.
I'm a high school student at a performing arts school. I study acting. It's a way to expression emotions, like a blog. Only in a play, I'm not expressing my thoughts, I am expressing the thoughts of the playwright. At least here I will be able to share my opinions and my emotions. I already have a few blog ideas and I will be starting shortly after this blog is posted. Enjoy!
